The FSC Family of Brands Began With a Vision
J. Brian Stone, hands-on president and founder of the three Food Service Company (FSC) brand divisions, was born and raised in New England. As the oldest of eight children, he has an inherent sense of family.
By the time he founded FSC brands, Brian had earned broad success in the foodservice industry, serving in various roles for regional firms. His keen understanding of all aspects of the business – as well as what motivates people on all sides of the table – had served him well. But he was driven to overcome the lackluster foodservice and ineffective management he observed in kitchens and cafeterias – especially those controlled by outside interests with little day-to-day involvement – and he knew there was a better way.
Brian saw an opportunity to make a huge difference for companies, institutions and schools struggling to run their own foodservice operations. He keenly understood their challenges and frustrations, such as loss of time and money while trying to hire, manage and compensate employees; source suppliers; buy food; create menus; develop compliant food safety programs; track reimbursements; and juggle countless other factors.
A New Approach is Realized
In 1993, Brian and his hand-picked team launched the family of FSC brands as a group of privately-held, American-owned regional food management companies serving fresh, nutritious foods prepared on-site for business and industry; healthcare and rehabilitation facilities; senior care and assisted living communities; public and private schools, and seasonal programs.
Three Unique Divisions; One Congruent Commitment
Today, the company has grown to employ more than 1,000 people across all branded divisions, which include:

FSC brands have steadily grown to serve clients throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
